Beallwood Baptist Church exists to worship God and to make, mature and mobilize Christ centered disciples to reach our community and the world for the glory of God.
Our Staff
David Mills
Senior Pastor
David Mills is Senior Pastor. He and his bride Michelle have served side by side since 1990. They have four children. Michelle is an interpreter for the deaf and hard of hearing. David has degrees from three Christian institutions ranging from a bachelor’s degree to a PhD. He has pastored, lead student ministries, conducted student camps, taught in a seminary, and served as a state missionary since 1985. He has taught and preached in 15 states and 4 foreign countries, including Israel. He adores his family, drinks dark roast coffee, and cheers for Texas A&M athletics. Michelle’s not much for Texas A&M (she loves the University of Tennessee and orange), but she does adore her family and drinks dark roast coffee.
Jake Woods
Music Minister
Jake Wood serves as our Worship and Senior Adult Pastor and joined the church staff in April 2026. A Columbus native, Jake has been serving in local churches since 2015. He is a 2016 graduate of Columbus State University and a 2019 graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Jake loves serving alongside others through music and helping lead people to worship and glorify God. He also enjoys caring for and connecting with our senior adults through fellowship, ministry, and special events.
Outside of ministry, Jake enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, game nights, music, and sports. And when it comes to college football, you can always count on him to say, “War Eagle!”
Israel Jane
Youth and College Minister
Israel Jane serves as Youth Pastor and College Ministry Coordinator at Beallwood Baptist Church, where he joined the staff in August 2024. He gave his life to Jesus in 1991 and joined Masters Commission that same year, jumping headfirst into ministry. He spent ten years with Masters Commission as a student and staff member. During that time, he met his wife, Erin. They married in 2000 and went on to launch Masters Commission programs in El Paso, Texas, and later in Florida.
Israel’s ministry experience includes serving in churches, speaking in schools, leading mission trips, and helping young people grow in their faith. He loves helping students understand God’s Word, build a personal relationship with Jesus, and live out their faith every day. His favorite Scripture is Proverbs 3:5–6, which encourages trusting the Lord wholeheartedly and following His direction.
Israel and Erin have three children: Ava, Memphis, and Stella. Erin serves as a Senior counselor at Central High School and helps lead Beallwood’s college ministry. Israel loves spending time with his family, making people laugh, all things ’70s and ’80s, and all of Elvis’s music. Erin loves her family and cheers for Auburn football. War Eagle!
Amy Miles
Children's Director
Amy Miles is our Preschool/Children’s Director. Amy was born and raised in Columbus, GA. She has served as the preschool and children’s director since 2019. She has a love and passion for children and seeing them come to know, love, and serve God. She graduated from Columbus State University in 2014 and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2019.
Our Beliefs
Our God
There is one God – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit – who subsists in unity, and also as three separate distinct Persons.
Jesus
Jesus Christ is God’s Son. He was born of a virgin as both God and man, lived a sinless life, died to atone for the sins of human beings, was buried, arose from the grave, ascended into heaven, and will literally return to earth.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the divine helper, assistant, counselor, and instructor, and His work is to reveal Christ, convict of sin, lead to repentance, guide believers, comfort, strengthen, and sanctify the soul.
The Bible
The Bible is God’s Holy Word, without error, and is the sole authority for life.
Man’s Need for God
Human beings are the special creations of God, made in His image. They fell from innocence through the sin of the first man, Adam, and all human beings are sinners in need of salvation.
Salvation
Salvation is a gift through repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ. Every person who truly is saved is eternally secure in the Lord Jesus Christ and will spend eternity in heaven, while those who die in their sins will spend eternity in hell.
Baptism
Baptism is by immersion after salvation and is done in obedience to Jesus Christ’s command.
Believers’ Access to God
Each believer has direct access to God through the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Church
The church is a local body of baptized believers with the Lord Jesus Christ as the Head.

We are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and affirm the Baptist Faith and Message.
