Scott Rhodes

Scott Rhodes

Music Minister

Scott Rhodes has served in Worship Ministry for over 20 years. Scott was called to the worship ministry in 1999, and in 4 different churches during his ministry.

Scott’s primary goal in leading worship has always been to point the body to the greatness of our God, and to encourage freedom in our worship through the means of corporate singing.  Secondly, Scott endeavors to present music to the body in a diverse way that will enable the expression of sound theology through traditional hymns, and praise and worship through more current worship music. The aim is to bridge the various generations in any church in a way that encourages the entire body of Christ, to be unified in our corporate worship, which will bring glory to the Father, and edify the body.

Scott has been married to Kim for 41 years, and they have 5 children, Beth, John, Emily, James, and Bonnie Grace.

Amy Miles

Jason Chuong

Vietnamese Pastor

While studying for his Master’s of Divinity at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, Jason received the call from the Lord: to go to Columbus, Georgia, and begin God’s mission for the Vietnamese community. Beallwood Baptist Church’s brother Billy Duncan, with their love for the Columbus Vietnamese community and the surrounding areas, opened their doors and helped Pastor Jason to start a church for the Vietnamese people.
Jason has a lovely wife, Amy, and two children, Tiffany and Matthew. Jason and Amy have been together for 34 years, with their daughter Tiffany recently married and their son Matthew recently engaged. Jason graduated from Boyce College of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Both Jason and Amy are also graduates of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, in 2011 and 2007, respectively.

Our Beliefs

Our God

There is one God – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit – who subsists in unity, and also as three separate distinct Persons.

Jesus

Jesus Christ is God’s Son. He was born of a virgin as both God and man, lived a sinless life, died to atone for the sins of human beings, was buried, arose from the grave, ascended into heaven, and will literally return to earth.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the divine helper, assistant, counselor, and instructor, and His work is to reveal Christ, convict of sin, lead to repentance, guide believers, comfort, strengthen, and sanctify the soul.

The Bible

The Bible is God’s Holy Word, without error, and is the sole authority for life.

Man’s Need for God

Human beings are the special creations of God, made in His image. They fell from innocence through the sin of the first man, Adam, and all human beings are sinners in need of salvation.

Salvation

Salvation is a gift through repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ. Every person who truly is saved is eternally secure in the Lord Jesus Christ and will spend eternity in heaven, while those who die in their sins will spend eternity in hell.

Baptism

Baptism is by immersion after salvation and is done in obedience to Jesus Christ’s command.

Believers’ Access to God

Each believer has direct access to God through the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Church

The church is a local body of baptized believers with the Lord Jesus Christ as the Head.

Affiliation

We are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and affirm the Baptist Faith and Message.
